The curious kind that grabs you by the ear
Whispers sweet serenades to your fears
But no, it’s not what you need to hear
These are the melodies of man, not God.

Well if you find that truth is all too odd
That trickery, any past grace was fraud
Keeping wings chained up was Sodom’s job
Her daughters they were surely broads
Who could sing only melodies of man, not God.

But shall peace return to a cracked vase
Inside with which you discover your face
Only angels see through life's awful race

Lonesome bones could crack this soul for free
Of the structures being held up for me
